Terms of service
Draft — have a lawyer review before you take payment.
1. What this service does
guardyn.dev collects read-only forensic evidence from machines you have installed our agent on, and uses a large language model you select to interpret that evidence. It is an analysis and advisory tool. It is not an antivirus, an endpoint detection and response product, or a managed security service, and it does not prevent, block or remediate anything.
2. Your authority to use it
You may install the agent only on machines you own or are explicitly authorised to inspect. You are responsible for having that authority, and for any notice or consent your jurisdiction or your employment agreements require. The agent reads process, network, account, browser and filesystem metadata, which in many places is personal data about the people who use the machine.
3. No warranty as to findings
The service reports what it examined and what it found. It cannot and does not certify that a machine is uncompromised. A quiet result means nothing in the evidence gathered looked wrong; it is not a clean bill of health. You remain responsible for your own security decisions.
4. Credits and billing
Model usage is charged in credits. One credit is one US cent of retail model value. Your plan includes an allowance each billing period; unused allowance does not carry over. Purchased credits do not expire. When your balance reaches zero, investigations stop — nothing is deleted and your agents stay connected.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current period. We do not refund unused allowance, but we will resolve a genuine billing error promptly; the credit ledger is append-only and auditable, so both of us can see exactly what happened.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to:
- inspect machines you are not authorised to inspect;
- attempt to make the agent execute code, write to a machine, or read outside its allowlist;
- circumvent usage limits, resell access, or share credentials outside your workspace;
- probe, load-test or attack our infrastructure without written permission.
Good-faith security research on your own workspace is welcome — see our security model for how to report something.
6. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not offer an SLA except under a separate enterprise agreement. Model providers occasionally rate-limit or decline requests; the service falls back to another model where one is configured and tells you when it did.
7. Suspension
We may suspend a workspace for non-payment or for a breach of section 5. We will tell you why. Your data remains available for export for 30 days after suspension.
8. Liability
To the extent the law permits, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss arising from a security incident the service did not detect.
9. Changes
We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email of a material change to these terms or to pricing. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance.
